I hope you're happy

It's not that we don't care or that nothing has happened in the last 6 months, it's really more a matter of laziness. As I am sure you all understand, updating a blog takes time, pictures and motivation. We have time but not pictures (because we either forget to take our camera or forget to charge it), or motivation (because, well, I am not sure about this one). Since I am missing the aforementioned characteristics I present the lazy version of the last 6 months.

We bought a house, sort of

Stacy is still working on her nursing

Uh......I mean

Sydney is making friends at her new school

And Jared (I) am getting fatter

That's about the size of it. I hope you're happy.

Finally

These pictures are really old. Despite all my complaints about other people not keeping up their blog, I have failed to keep up my own (our own). Most of you have already seen these pictures I'm sure, but here they are anyway. I would narrate this whole thing but that would be time consuming so if you have questions just ask and I will explain

Moab '07

Well, we have been playing again so here are some more pictures. This post is a little late but we're sure you will get over it.

He's fast like lightening. Before this capable picture taker is able to get a frontal view he passes by like the Tasmanian Devil. The backside is nice don't you think?

I had a great picture of Stacy's posterior that I had planned to put here, but...........

after she was done beating me up, she promised more of the same if I didn't listen.

Sydney perfected this trick as soon as Jared was done pounding the pavement. It's a very technical maneuver that involves climbing, swinging and sliding.

Sydney is about to embark on her first desert adventure into the land of half circles. Can you see the excitement?

She made it! (she is the tiny speck in the middle of the arch)

After all that excitement she decided that she should celebrate by taking a picture of her very patient mother, and her fingers.

Then she decided that she too should get in on the photo-op.

Then I too decided that I should be in on the photo-op. Of course I had to climb to the top of the mountain before they would take my picture.

After witnessing my feat of bravery, Sydney wanted to try the red-rock scramble too.
Can you find Sydney in the next picture?

Once she started, she didn't want to stop. She is the little girl in pink (in the top picture) making her way up to these fabulous arches.
After double arch I decided to take them on a death march to Delicate arch. Stacy liked the hike, but it was a good thing Sydney brought her pack-mule (Jared) along for the hike or she never would have made it.

We could be on a license plate, don't you think?
The above picture is a beautiful view of the arch, but we thought we could do better than that. Here is a picture from the top of the mountain looking down into an adjacent canyon.

And here is the arch.

Sydney and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity for another photo-op. Here she sits at the top of the world.

Stacy didn't want to come up, what with the fear of heights and all.

She was an awfully good sport about letting us endanger our well being though.

It is at this point that the pictures stop. The trip back down was hot and on the whole not as whiny as usual. This is most likely attributable to the downhill grade, the desire to get back to the car so we could stop walking, and the fact that Sydney rode "J" her pack-mule for part of the journey.

March 16, 2007

The name and content of this blog might change in the future to more adequately represent the interests of all those involved. For now, since I am the one left in charge of any and all computer related tasks, it will look like I think it should. So without further ado here are some of the pictures we have taken over the past few weeks of our marital/familial bliss.

The majority of our captured images are either of our wedding or our honeymoon. I'll try to reduce the redundancy as much as possible, but I only have so much to work with. Here is my beautiful wife staring longingly at the overwhelming magnificence that is my head. Sydney appears to be preoccupied with something else, though she might be praying. It's hard to say.

Here we are with what appears to be red eyes. It might be fright, or lack of sleep, or just the inability of the person taking the picture to find the red-eye eliminator function on the camera. Once again, it's hard to say.

Since the majority of people viewing this post will undoubtedly have attended the ceremony I will move on to the honeymoon pictures.

For those of you who have never seen it, this is what Stacy looks like when she gets into one of here masochistic modes. She is about to begin a 10 mile trek down a plateau and through a river bed so that she can sleep in a tent, eat dehydrated food and swim in water that is really much too cold to swim in. All to see blue water. Seems kind of silly when you think about it.

I am joining her on this mission of self torture for pleasure.

Ah, the payoff. This is Navajo Falls, the first of four beautiful falls.

See that babe sitting in the water? That's my wife!

Did I mention that the water was cold?

This is the namesake, Havasu Falls. It is very worth the hike.

This is Mooney, at 200 feet tall it is the tallest of the falls.

Stacy and some random people are pondering whether or not it would be easier to get to the bottom by jumping from the top. Fortunately they all decided to hike down.

This is beaver falls, by the far the hardest to get to. You'll notice that this picture is taken from a distance. We didn't actually get down to these falls.

This is a picture from the vantage point of two people not looking forward to the hike to the top of that plateau. Yes this is the infamous hike out.

WARNING: For those of you who might be wondering whether or not you should try this hike with your significant other, this is the result of under estimating the difficulty of this hike. Just so you are aware. The last half mile is much tougher with two packs on, but it feels twice as good when you're done.

We will be back with more soon.
